Monday, October 28th - Day 48 - Track from Opua to Paihia

Today we tackled the scenic Opua to Paihia Track along the coast.  A short section just after the start of the track was evidently closed to "slips" (rock slides) so we walked up to the small local road for a bit.  Later, on the advice of a few local people on a bench, the track was fixed so on the way back we ignored the detour sign - the track was fine!

The Start of the track is just below our cottage.  How great is that!

Confession....the entire track to the nearby town of Paihia was too far for us, but we managed 3/4 of the way there over several hours.  Plenty!
